I spent most of my life building my own kingdom, but seven years ago God began to open my eyes to how the rest of the world lives, and he laid the burden of the orphan care crisis heavy on my heart. I entered a season of learning and eventually began leading the orphan care ministry at our church as a volunteer. Shortly after adopting our son from China, I began working for Hands of Hope, a bridge organization, as the Foster Care Director. But I’ve always known I’m a “church” girl—meaning my passion is specifically for the local church. So when the opportunity arose to become the foster and adoption ministry director, it was a bittersweet yet easy decision. After a nearly 3 year season of serving in the local church, God called me into a season of rest as he prepares me for what’s next.
I spend my days finding ways for everyone to be involved, as well as fighting to make foster care and adoption as normal as possible. Because I believe every child belongs in a family.
